Austin, TX (November 3, 2016) – Taco Bell is dropping the drive-thru, opening its kitchen and using technology to create a new experience with Taco Bell Cantina. This urban extension of the beloved Taco Bell brand will open at 2000 Guadalupe Street, Austin, Texas on Thursday, November 3rd. The Austin location is the third Taco Bell Cantina in the United States and first in the state of Texas.
The new Austin Taco Bell Cantina will be centrally-located along Guadalupe Street, directly across from the University of Texas campus. The restaurant will feature digital displays and local offerings distinctive to the Austin experience. Designed to set the stage for a social dining experience, the restaurant will serve the Taco Bell menu fans love, along with shareable menu items exclusive to Cantina restaurants including domestic, imported and local craft beers as well as liquors distilled in Central Texas, creating a local flavor in the new Twisted Freezes – a Freeze with a shot of alcohol unique to Taco Bell Cantina locations.
“Tacala is thrilled to bring Taco Bell Cantina to Austin and to be a part of Taco Bell’s growth plan which gives us access to urban areas. The Taco Bell brand is consistently focused on improving the customer experience in relevant ways, and Cantina is another example of this.” said Michael Border, Vice President of Development with Tacala Companies. “Taco Bell loves Austin and we know the Austin community will love Taco Bell Cantina!”
Perfect for breakfast through FourthMeal, or a quick stop on the way to campus, the new Taco Bell Cantina restaurant will feature unique décor, an open kitchen layout, community seating, Twisted Freezes and shareable menu items. The Austin Cantina Taco Bell is proud to support Austin businesses by keeping the most of the alcohol options local, including Tito’s Vodka, Treaty Oak Rum, Tequila 512, and craft beers from Live Oak Brewery and 512 Distillery.
The new Taco Bell Cantina location, the 280th Taco Bell restaurant for Tacala Companies, continues the company’s tremendous growth and development throughout the Southeast US and Texas. In addition to the Taco Bell Cantina restaurant, Tacala has opened or remodeled more than 15 restaurants in Texas over the past three years with continued growth planned.
