Our Purpose

At Tacala, being a strong partner in the communities where we do business isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a core part of our strategy. Strategic generosity fuels everything we do, because giving back is woven into our company DNA. We focus on teens because they’re our Team Members, our customers, and truly our future. Through Team Tacala Charities, our nonprofit foundation founded in 2003, and in partnership with the Taco Bell Foundation, we empower young people to chase their dreams. From scholarships to unique experiences to hands-on community support, we’re all about helping teens graduate high school and boldly explore their career passions.

Teen Serving Organization Grants

Tacala has strong relationships with over 50 local teen serving organizations in our geography distributing over $3.5 million in grants and donations since 2002. The funding for these programs is collected in-restaurant throughout the year when guests round up their checks to the next dollar and through local fundraisers. Tacala has also invested company funds in our communities.

Our dedication to teens through organizations like the Boys and Girls Club is not just about the financial support, but also about involvement. In addition to the funds we raise, we encourage Tacala team members to volunteer their time and talents so they can experience firsthand the awesome work of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Donation Requests

Tacala’s donations are issued through our non-profit foundation, Team Tacala Charities with the goal to promote educational opportunities for teens in our communities and increase High School graduation rates and post-secondary education. The majority of funds are allocated through the annual grant process. Donations will only be considered for 501c3 non-profit organizations that are aligned with our mission and serve the communities where we do business and are awarded on an annual basis in the form of programming dollars.
