Taco Bell Opening Second Location in Opelika

OPELIKA, AL 8/22/2014 – A new Taco Bell on Columbus Parkway is scheduled to open for business at 7am on Sunday, August 24th, a day after a ribbon-cutting ceremony and VIP “sneak peek” for Opelika City officials. Mayor Gary Fuller will be on-site Saturday, August 23rd at 11am for the ribbon cutting and will enjoy lunch afterwards with Taco Bell Team Members.

“Customers in Opelika have been very enthusiastic about Taco Bell since we opened our first location on Pepperell Parkway in 1992”, says Tim Morrison, President and COO of Tacala Companies. “Due to the growth we have seen in both Opelika and Tacala over the years, it seemed natural to expand our presence in the community that has been so supportive and where we have invested over $82,000 in grants to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County since 2003.”

The new restaurant continues the tremendous growth of Tacala Companies, which currently operates 260 locations throughout the Southeast US and Texas. The company recently opened a new location in downtown Birmingham, AL, as well as stores in Atmore, AL and Oneida, TN this summer.
